Hello there, I'm over 25 and have a driver's license but I currently don't own a car therefore I do not have car insurance. I know that usualy when you rent a car and you have car insurance, you won't have to pay extra for rental car insurance. How does that work if I don't have insurance right now? Is extra insurance from the rental company expensive? Or would they even let me rent a car (only for a couple of days when I go to my cousin's wedding out of state) if I don't have car insurance? Any insights would help! I would hate to show up and not be able to rent a car and have to call someone to come get me.
Thanks!
check your credit card, most major ones offer rental insurance thats cheaper thenthe stuff the car company offers, btw rental insurance is rarely covered by you private car insurance. it is not against the law for you to rent without the insurance but you will find a hefty bill for any damage without it. (car owner is required to carry liablity insurance, your just renter)
freq car renter through several major companies
add: reserve online before you leave then wont have to worry about problems when you get there.

The rental insurance will cost you $15-$20 a day, but you have no choice. No one is going to hand you the keys to a machine worth thousands of dollars without insurance. I suggest you go to some rental company sites and see what they charge per day for the insurance.
