Hi, As I say my Grandad has brought a Rolls and wants me to drive it for him to and from Weddings and for private hire etc. I know I have to get a suit etc but that is pretty much all I know ha ha! Can you give me advice on becoming the driver as in do I have to put the brides dress in the car, when and who do I open the door for first etc etc? All help grateful. Thanks
My Grandad is 75 he doesnt know either LOL

The Bride always travels seated behind the front passenger seat, and that seat is positioned as far forward as practicable for maximum foot/dress room.
The Bride will normally scoop the dress in herself, but make sure no part of it gets trapped in the door.

After the passengers are in the car, the chauffeur always walks around the back of the car to his/her door. The reason for that used to be that it wouldn't do for the occupants to see the 'staff', in reality, it gives you chance to check that the doors are closed properly!

On arrival at the venue, always stop with the Bride on the pavement side.

The Bride is the star of the show and is therefore always the last out of the car, if she gets out first, she has to stand at the roadside waiting for her escort, normally her father. By getting out last, she can also be helped with her dress by dad.

Always switch the engine off on arrival and never start it when members of the wedding party are standing behind the car, you don't want 6.75 ltrs of engine blowing soot onto mothers outfit!

Finally, a good chauffeur never breaks the speed limit, if you're asked to 'step on it' exaggerate your driving, accelerate hard up to the limit and brake late, it gives the impression of speed.

We were thinking by hot air balloon.. then I could do my bouquet toss about 10-15 feet off the ground.. maybe a helicopter.. but it's to loud..
we don't want the typical horse drawn carriage or vintage car/limo..

what are some other cool departures.. something memorable!
no I don't really want to ride a motorcycle in my wedding gown.. We're not too into them anyway.. and I mean something that most people don't ride in/on everyday..

Aside from a hot air balloon and helicopter (both of which are going to be expensive), there's not really much else you can do that would be practical.

Depending on your location, if near a river or lake, a departure by boat would be an option.
