I am planning to get married in the next 2 years and want it to be perfect, im starting my research now. I know what i want, i just want to know the best way of finding it. Ideally i would like a venue in the North of london or outskirts with access to the M25 Area as half the guest will be coming from Enfield and Half from Warwickshire. I would like to invite 250-300 guests and some of them will need to book a room for the night. there must be parking for most of their cars! I dont mind if the ceremony and reception are held in the same room, but i will need a break in between the two for the room to be set up for the party.I would like to seat my guests at round tables and I want a buffet,i wondered if its pos to have it set up by another company other than the hotel/venue we choose as there are specific foods i would like. What are the averavge costs for venue hire including tables and chairs, and does it cost more for two rooms? And where are the best places in my chosen area?
Also, i dont need waiters as such or a d.j but im sure i will need a small number of staff at hand to set the rooms up, how much do they charge for this, do most hotels provide it, do they let you do your own or do you have to hire someone from outside.

As we are a mixed faith couple we are having a fusion wedding, with this in mind we will be planning something to make it very special for each of us nearer the time but we will obviously need someone neutral to marry us such as a registrar- how much does this cost?

do most hotels and popular venues have bespoke wedding packages which are flexiable? if so what do they offer? as there are many things which i would like to organise myself it is mainly the venue, seating, tables etc that i wish them to take care of.

thanks

any input is great!

Hi there. To be honest, you have asked a lot of questions that you will need to ask a venue as you obviously know what you want. My advice to you is to use the internet to have a look at venues in the areas you feel are feasible. I got married in the Royal Chace Hotel in Enfield and it was beautiful. The settings are fab and they are very accommodating - we also are of mixed backgrounds.

Good luck whatever you decide to do!

Whats the best way to securely attach ribbons to a wedding car? Not hiring a car, using a very nice one owned by a friend, so will have to work out how to attach the ribbons ourselves. Thanks!

I am really set on buying a limousine and my budget is exceptionally low. I plan to spend $2,000 max. That can buy me a working limousine whether it be lincoln or cadillac from the early 80's to 90's. I need someone who can estimate how many mpg it gets and let me email them to ask them some questions about it. I only want to buy one for pleasure use. I'd probably only drive it one or twice a month. I need help before I buy one though and I just can't find the info I need on the internet. THANX SO MUCH. Can anyone here help me?
The one I'm looking at is a lincoln 1984 for $1,600. I can't find enough info on it. It has 180,000 miles on it. I need to know the mpg, and maybe even an insurance quote estimate. THANX
If I have the same deal. Which would be better, caddy or lincoln?

if it runs good, then buy it. i'm guessing it might have a 5.0L v-8 engine in it. with the size of the car and the size of the motor, i would expect the mpg to be between 10- 15 mpg. you can mail me if you have additional questions at my profile on this site.

We're notified about this by the phone, as apparently our invitation got lost in the mail.So we're in a process of booking our flight. The reception takes place at the house of the groom (our friend) 40 km north of Milan, on Lake Como . When asked for help to find out a budget accomodation near by, we're provided with the link to the Castle where the bride (whom we've only met once) have block-booked several rooms. I am not sure if they're getting a special rate, but the list price for a standard double at this place is 300 usd/night. Since we are kind of working with a tight budget here, and not ready to splash out on a 3-4 day holiday of a lifetime, we'd rather stay in a b&b or budget hotel rather than a castle, but..no choice. Naturally we're paying for the transport from Scandinavia and all the other expenses that go along with a wedding (car rental, gifts, etc). The question is: are we expected to pay for the accomodation as well? Your advice is much appreciated, thanks!

if they didn't mention anything about paying for accomidations then i would assume yes you will be paying for them..

I'm interested in renting a Classic / antique car for my wedding for the Princeton, NJ area. Does anyone know any place or anyone willing to rental their classic car?

Most big cities have these, just check the yellow pages…

"When I was six years old I met him in the playground and he came up to me with a daisy, just the one, and knelt on both knees and asked me to marry him. So I pushed him over then ran away. Two days later he came over and asked if he could play cops and robbers with me and from that day on we played everyday.

At 11 on my first day of Secondary school I was so nervous but at lunch time he came to find me, and we sat down and ate lunch together. We did this everyday for an entire year. You were the first person I told about everything, about my crushes, about my lessons and about all the people I hated, and when I was 13 and thought I was the only one who had never been kissed, you offered to show me how, and by the tree in your backgarden we shared our first kiss.

At 15 we went to our first proper house party, and I got drunk. Even though I made a fool of myself you were there to help me stand strong. You didnt judge and you didnt make fun.

Over the next year we began to seperate, made different friends. I got my first serious boyfriend and you went through quite a few girlfriends. And then it got to May and that meant the prom. Everything had been arranged, I'd been getting my outfit for months and then the day before I found out my boyfriend had cheated on me. The first person I turned to was you. You turned up at my door with a bouquet of roses and a vintage 1950's car.

I laughed that night
I cried that night

We had three glorious yars together, when everyday I would smile. Even on the last when your mother stood up, in the church infornt of your coffin and began reading from your diary:

"I saw you when I was six stood by the bench in a blue checked dress and daisy shoes and I needed to give an other daisy just because…. Becuase i loved you from that day on"

His wedding vows written the day after prom, that I will never get to hear."
Oh gd, it's not about me, thank heavens, i never want to experiance that kind of pain…it was just a story i wanted everyone to read

Awe I almost cried that was really good though!

I am on a tight budget for my wedding. So I was thinking rather than the 'traditional' 2/3 cars. I was thinking about just hiring one for me and my dad to get to the church, and then use the same one for me and my then husband to travel to the reception. My parents have a large people carrier and my mum will take the bridesmaids in that (I have 5). But…..my groom's mother said to him that he can not just have one car! She asked "how is he going to get to the church?" But if I'm not mistaken the groom does not have a car!!!! If I did have two, the second would be for the bridesmaids anyway, not for him!!! HELP ! ! ! ! My fiance agrees with me, am I doing the right thing just ordering one? I am saving hundreds!!! X

You can do whatever YOU want! My dad recently got remarried and they only had one limo. The bride and bridesmaids went in. and the groom and groomsmen all took one car. (I believe my brother drove) Don't let any one influence your wedding it's your day! Congratulations!!

My friend is getting married and she wants to wear white sneakers, can anyone please give me the website details or store name and address in Melbourne where we can buy them?
Can everyone please email me at katly@bigpond.com
